Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English model of catwalk and lingerie and a TV personality. She finished second in Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) in 2006 and was the winner of the series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Since 2015, she's been Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy is the second of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy and Geoff Thomas Clancy, was born in Liverpool. She grew up in Woolton which is a suburb of Liverpool, and attended St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy formed the girl group Genie Queen with Andy McCluskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was one of thirteen finalist for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second cycle in 2006. The contest lasted for 10 weeks to win a modeling contract. Clancy together alongside fellow contestant Lianna Foller, made it to the finale runway show. Clancy eventually became the runner up. After appearing on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy modelled for several newspapers and magazines. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike and was on the cover for Arena magazine in May 2007. Clancy was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine's 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was chosen for her connection to Peter Crouch. She was photographed by Yu Tsai in only body paint, making it look as though she was wearing an England shirt. Clancy appeared in a 2010 campaign by Umbro sportswear, wearing an England shirt. She was also photographed with other wives of footballers and girlfriends from nations that won the World Cup. Clancy walked in the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear line Giles Spring 2011 collection.In March 2011, Clancy appeared on the Elite Model Management: New York division's website. She was part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign in July 2013. The editorial was shot created by Absynth Photographyic. The fashion film was by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modelled for the August 2011 cover of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was among the models featured in LOVE magazine’s Advent Calendar, alongside SukiWaterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, she was featured in British Elle. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch, their daughter, collaborated to launch Lipsy's AW'19 collection. In January 2020 the collection for AW19 was launched in UAE.
